Meltzer Counseling is privileged to be part of a collaborative community. Every Friday we participate with Richland Oaks Counseling for a 2 hour case consult. It’s an opportunity to support and learn from each other. Yesterday we were so fortunate to have guests for a lunch and learn. Mike Jones, Dr Brooke Keels and Grant Young from both Kind Psychiatry and Lighthouse Recovery. Kind Psychiatry was born from a conversation with Dr Lee Spencer on the limited access to psychiatric care in Texas. They have created a thoughtful team of both prescribers and front end intake to meet the needs of clients through insurance, reasonable self pay and the prescriber best suited for each client’s individual needs. Beginning of school year is a great reminder to continue improving connections with our children. We can plant seeds of kindness and compassion everyday with our kids, our families our friends, communities and colleagues. In addition to our clinicians who provide both telehealth and in person services to adults and teens utilizing major insurance and self pay options starting at $80. Meltzer Counseling can provide up to 12 FREE counseling sessions in our Richardson, TX offices for families with minor children in Dallas and Denton counties and surrounding areas including Dallas, Denton, Mesquite, Garland and Lakewood in-person appointments. We can schedule a child and their family in 3 to 5 business days. Evening and weekend availability. Spanish speaking clinician available. Families have access to unlimited groups. Counseling sessions are designed for helping families with short-term child or teen-centered goals.

Family Tree Program
The Family Tree Program provides family counseling at no cost to families in Denton and Dallas Counties. (Administered by Meltzer Counseling PLLC)
The Family Tree Program generally provides family counseling to families who are experiencing change in life circumstances, school issues, behavioral issues, communication breakdowns, grief, and general family struggles. Meltzer Counseling wishes everyone the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves, each other, with nature and to recharge and reset this weekend. We can better care for others if we create opportunities to renew ourselves physically and emotionally. We are providing telehealth for all ages throughout Texas. Several in person availabilities in our Richardson, TX offices. Clinicians trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): helping clients change their relationship with difficult thoughts, feelings and situations and allow for more space to respond in ways that are more helpful. Self care, self regulation, and psychological flexibility may not solve all our issues, however they may very well improve our ability to engage in life and relationships in more meaningful ways. Clinicians trained in communication and various types of therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT skills training, social and emotional learning and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Clinicians have experience with couples and relationship counseling, anxiety counseling, depression, grief counseling, trauma and anger management. We had the opportunity to hear from functional prescribers Everest Goldstein and Jennifer Adesina share case studies demonstrating how they utilize functional medicine and testing to enhance outcomes for their patients.
