Jamie Cenolli is not like a regular mom; she's a "cool mom." Or at least that's what she was going for when she took her four- and seven-year-old daughters roller skating. It was a perfect day. Then, despite Jamie's impressive skills on her blades, she did what any mom would do when one of her daughters screamed for her- she made a quick pivot. Unfortunately, she lost her balance, fell and broke her wrist.
After surgery, Jamie's mom, who had previously come to us, suggested she see Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist Zachary Saunders. "As always, mom knows best," Jamie admitted. "The moment I walked into the office, I felt a sense of comfort. The office quickly became my second family."
At first, everything felt impossible, but she was making small gains. After a few months, Jamie wasn't improving as much as she should have. She returned to her surgeon to find out she still had a loose bone, preventing her from fully turning her wrist. After a second surgery, she returned to Zachary, knowing she was in good hands.
Zachary helped Jamie work on her range of motion and strength. Then, along with Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist Pamela Scanlon, he also created a custom brace.
"I couldn't be more grateful for their expertise," Jamie said. "The brace they designed helped me turn my palm up, providing a gentle but firm stretch. It's exactly what I needed, and the attention to detail they put into tailoring the solution to my needs made all the difference."
Jamie made incredible progress. She regained full use of her hand and is now back to being a cool mom to her daughters. She has a lot of appreciation for the team who helped get her there. "I'm forever grateful for the compassion and support Zac showed me throughout this journey," Jamie said. "I couldn't have made it through without him, and I'll always appreciate his unwavering commitment to helping me heal."
