A little late to the party but better late than never!
2023 was a hard year that broke me open, made me braver and reaffirmed that I am MEANT to be on this path. I am SO proud of each of the women I got to walk alongside this past year.
It was also the year that I got to experience the true MAGIC of first-hand. They have always been my favorite to attend as a doula but getting to experience it myself changed me to my core. The Midwifery model is unparalleled. For low-risk pregnancies I truly believe that it is the best place to be.
I am blessed to have taken Dean to all of my Childbirth Classes for the first 6 months of his life. Wearing him on my back or bouncing him with my foot- it felt normal and right to have my breastfed baby with me while I "work".
I started my path to Midwifery and my apprenticeship in the late part of 2023 as well. Finding the balance of Mom / Wife / Student / Business Owner etc etc has been a new challenge but one that I know is fluid and temporary. Ask any new midwife about their hardest part and most will say student life.
I hope that 2024 will bring me a bit more balance in the juggling act. I hope to attract more clients birthing with midwives (for obvious education reasons but also bc I'm growing tired of the second-hand trauma often experienced from obstetricians. *Not all, of course. But many).
I also hope to grow my placenta encapsulations which would help fund my studies and give me more time with family.
I'm ready to tackle this new year and am excited to see what 2024 has in store ✨️

There should be no woman left feeling regret, shame or sadness after giving birth. Too often women just “don’t know what they don’t know” and after a culmination of events things just evolve quickly throughout labor ultimately leaving them wondering, “how in control was I?”, “did I give informed consent and could that have gone differently?”.
Of course, every single mother wants nothing more than a healthy baby placed on their chest or in their arms after birth. Hands down. That’s the desired outcome.
How many have stopped to think about the mother or birthing person’s emotional, spiritual, and psychological well-being at this mountain peak? She too, has just been born. She has now undergone the single most trying experience of her entire life.
That’s where I come in as her doula.
I will work to serve the birthing person and their partner during this life-changing journey. My goal is to leave every birth having the woman feel like she just rocked her birth; confident, empowered, and immensely proud of the strength she found within herself bringing her baby earthside.
“A woman at birth is at once her most powerful, and most vulnerable. But any woman who has birthed unhindered understands that we are stronger than we know”. -Marcie Macari
