Backpacks, Pizza, and Playtime 🍕

We may still be the new kids on the block—but that didn’t stop us from throwing our first-ever Back to School giveaway and pizza party for our caregivers and their families.

We had stacks of school supplies, plenty of pizza, and a whole lot of fun.

Thank you to the amazing caregivers who showed up, brought their little ones, and reminded us why we do what we do.

Next year? Bigger, better, and even more pizza.

And shout out to Kari (my mom and our office manager) for planning the whole event!

Big thanks to Mercer Terrace for the warm welcome—we’re here if anyone wants to check eligibility or learn more. And shoutout to Bryce for helping!

Late post: One of the best parts of doing this work? Being able to bring my family with me.

Last week at Twin Rivers, we hosted bingo—and all four of us were there. Bryce called a few games, Everett did his thing just being cute, and we got to connect with a really great community.

The people there made it even better. Big shoutout to Traci—she heard Bryce was into theatre and pulled him aside to give him this incredible pep talk. Her kindness meant a lot.

Appreciate everyone who came out and let us share a bit about ComForCare. Can’t wait to come back.

We believe that strong relationships between caregivers and clients are the foundation of exceptional care.

When caregivers and their clients connect on a personal level, it enhances the quality of care and creates a more positive experience for everyone involved.

The Caregiver's Journey co-founders Sue Ryan & Nancy Treaster share how caregivers and families can build healthier relationships based on trust, respect, and clear communication on this month's ComForConnections podcast episode: https://ow.ly/m5tt50Wr8cM

Caring for aging parents can be a rewarding yet challenging journey, especially when they are hesitant to accept assistance.

It’s not uncommon for older adults to feel a sense of pride or independence that makes them resistant to help, even when it’s needed.

As caregivers, it’s important to approach these conversations with empathy and understanding. Listen as Dr. Barry Jacobs, clinical psychologist and national caregiving expert, provides insight to help ease the transition on the ComForConnections podcast: https://ow.ly/Zwuw50WhEN5

Psychologist Dr. Barry Jacobs joins ComForConnections to help caregivers navigate tough conversations with aging parents who resist help.
