Full Job Description

· Perform comprehensive assessments of patients to obtain an understand of the patients’ prosthetic/orthotic needs and goals to design the most appropriate prosthetic/orthotic devices.

· Create a comprehensive prosthetic/orthotic treatment plan to meet the needs and goals of the patient in collaboration with the ordering physician(s).

· Perform all the necessary procedures to create, fit, manufacture, test, and deliver the appropriate prosthetic/orthotic.

· Select materials, make cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts, considering new techniques and materials.

· Instruct patient in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.

· Provide continuing patient care and periodic evaluation to assure/maintain/document optimal fit and function of the prosthesis/orthosis

· Repair and/or modifying prosthetics and/or orthotics based upon patient needs.

· Prepare extremely comprehensive clinical notes and documentation in a prompt and organized manner.

· Compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.

· Mentor new residents or newly certified clinicians if necessary.

· Participate in personal and professional development through continuing education, training, and research.

Possess advance knowledge of prosthetic technology such as microprocessor knees and myoelectric devices (Required)
License/Certification:

ABC Prosthetist Orthotist Certification (Required)
Must be licensed CPO or be eligible to be licensed in MN.
