Our brain is a complex and delicate organ that requires utmost care to keep it healthy. It is surrounded by a thin layer of tissue called the subarachnoid lymphatic-like membrane (SLYM). This SLYM serves two important functions: it helps to keep fresh cerebrospinal fluid separate from fluid containing waste, and also keeps the brain from becoming overloaded with toxins.

The SLYM has similarities to the body’s lymphatic system, as both are involved in helping move fluids throughout the body. In addition, the SLYM itself contains small vessels that act similar to capillaries by allowing nutrients and oxygen to pass into the brain while removing some toxins out of it at the same time.

This specialized tissue layer plays an important role in maintaining proper blood flow and drainage within our brains.

What makes a good life? it is never too late to change!

Harvard Study of Adult Development for 75 years
in order to understand what contributes to leading a healthy life. The American psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and clinical professors have spent their careers studying the effects that relationships have on our overall health and well-being. In a TED Talk on the topic of “What Makes a Good Life? Lessons from the Longest Study on Happiness” which has been viewed more than 23 million times.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KkKuTCFvzI

In his talk, Waldinger discusses
how he and his team of researchers studied generations of participants their research found that strong relationships are essential for people’s happiness, rather than wealth or fame. As soon as people enter into meaningful relationships with family members, friends or romantic partners their lives become much happier and healthier.

Waldinger's findings
showed that those who had meaningful relationships with others were happier and healthier than those who did not have such connections. In addition, they experienced fewer mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and addiction. They also lived longer than their counterparts without strong social ties. Interestingly, these benefits were found regardless of income or education level - indicating that close relationships are beneficial in all walks of life.

In summary,
Harvard research clearly shows the importance of developing close relationships for leading a good life full of health and happiness. It’s never too late to start your happiness journey, start today
Beware - In today's world of rapidly advancing technology,
it is easy to forget that a good life requires more than just material items or digital devices. The reality is that many of our modern technologies are actually taking away from our interpersonal relationships in certain ways.

For example,
rather than having meaningful conversations with others in person or over the phone, people tend to increasingly rely on text messaging and social media as their primary forms of communication. While these technologies make it easier for us to keep up with our friends and family on the go, they lack the depth and richness that comes with face-to-face interaction.

Rumination can be detrimental to the brain both mentally and physically, but with the practice of breath meditation, people can regain control of their thoughts. Neuroplasticity is the key scientific principle behind this type of cognitive therapy. It proves that our brains can adapt and change based on how we use them.

Frequent rumination, or persistent negative thinking, often leads to a feeling of being stuck in these negative thought patterns. This can lead to a reduced ability to think clearly, decreased concentration levels and even physical symptoms such as fatigue or headaches. offers an online platform to help teach people how to positively distract themselves from overthinking through mindful activities.
Rumination can be detrimental to both physical and mental health, but with practice, it doesn't have to be. It's a normal human instinct to ruminate - continually review a problem or situation without coming up with any sort of resolution. However, when done excessively, it can lead to issues such as depression, anxiety and difficulty focusing on tasks at hand.

Luckily there are ways to counteract the effects of ruminating thoughts. Utilizing practices such as breath meditation is one way that has proven effective in managing these intrusive thoughts. Breath meditation works by redirecting attention away from the negative thought patterns and encourages neuroplasticity - a process that helps the connections in the brain and helps us gain control over our minds and break free from negative thought cycles. https://thinktherapy.org/psychoneuroimmunology/
