Prayer of Hope — First Sunday of Advent

O God of Light and Promise, as we light the first candle of Advent, fill our hearts with renewed hope.

Dispel the darkness around us and strengthen our faith as we wait for Your Son.

May this humble flame remind us that Your love never fails, Your mercy never ends, and Your presence is always near.

Lord, lead us with hope, guide us with Your truth, and prepare our hearts
for the coming of Jesus, our Light and our Savior. Amen.

Regina Health Center’s outreach is helping to serve at the Broadview Heights Human Services Senior Center Friendsgiving! 🍂🧡
What an incredible afternoon filled with warmth, laughter, and community! This Friendsgiving feast was a huge success, proving that the best memories are made around the table with friends who become family.
We are so thankful for everyone who joined us and for the amazing staff (Kathy, Wade, Stacy and Mary) who made it all possible. From delicious food to great fellowship, it was a day to remember. Full Plates & Grateful Hearts 🧡

The Council works closely with Assumption Church - Broadview Hts. OH of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish providing funds for various project they may need. Once again, our friends, Jennie Petry and Wayne Scott, from Hospice of the Western Reserve came to present a Veteran's Day program for our Veteran's and their invited guests. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance, watched a video short entitled, "A Soldier's Deck of Cards", listened to Jennie's moving story about "The Missing Man Table" and of course, pinned our Veterans with special Ohio Veteran Pins. We rounded out the celebration by having coffee and pastries from Michelangelo's Bakery and singing "God Bless America". Thank you to all of our Veteran Residents, Staff and Volunteers at Regina Health Center, as well as to all those who have served.

We recently had a piano recital by a lovely young woman, Marina Hearns. Marina is very active in the community, always looking to spread joy and service. Her father's family had religious family members at Regina, while Marina was growing up and she often came here to visit. We hope this visit, won't be her last!

Friday is dedicated to the Passion of Jesus Christ, Our Saviour
– Jesus was scourged, mocked, and crucified on a Friday. Because of this, the Church has always set aside Fridays of days of penance and sacrifice. This day should always be a day of repentance and a day in which we recall Christ’s complete self-sacrifice to save us from our sins.

Prayer
Lord, help me to become aware of Your holy Passion. Help me to see the love that enabled You to endure such torment. May I see in Your Passion Your endless love for all and may I, in turn, love those who suffer with the same love I have for You. Jesus, I trust in You!
