Last week, Lifeworks leaders Brian Begin and Dan Mogelson spoke at the Ham & Eggs Club at the Edina Country Club.
They shared our history, services, and vision for a future where disability inclusion is the standard, sparking meaningful conversations about barriers, opportunities, and how communities can be more accessible. Several attendees explored how Lifeworks’ services could support their families and ways their communities can further support our mission.
A heartfelt thank you to Bruce & Patsy Lillehei, long-time Lifeworks supporters, for the invitation and to Jim Utt, President of the Ham & Eggs Club, and all members for their warm hospitality and thoughtful engagement.

Disability inclusion is good for business, but how do organizations turn awareness into action?
It starts with leadership commitment, barrier audits, education, accessible practices, and authentic partnerships. When accessibility is built into every layer of your business, inclusion becomes culture — not compliance.

Nearly 1 in 3 U.S. adults has a disability, yet fewer than 4 in 10 working-age adults with disabilities are employed. This isn’t a skills gap; it’s an accessibility gap.
Barriers like inaccessible hiring tools, bias in interviews, rigid job structures, and outdated ideas about accommodations continue to exclude qualified talent long before hiring even starts.
It’s time to redesign workplaces that work for everyone - and National Disability Employment Awareness Month is the perfect time to do that.
