It’s a Girl! Welcome Lilliana – Our First Baby of 2026!

The Richland Hospital and Clinics proudly welcomed the first baby of the year on January 8 at 7:06 AM! Lilliana, born to Ashley Dank and Dustyn Schneider, weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and measured 20 inches.

What makes this moment even more special? Ashley is part of our TRHC family as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the MedSurg department! We are thrilled to celebrate this annual milestone with one of our own staff.

A huge thank you to local businesses and groups for showering this sweet family with gifts valued at over $1,200! Your generosity makes this tradition so meaningful.

Thank you to:
Richland Hospital Foundation • Partners of The Richland Hospital and Clinics • Bailey’s Paint & Decorating • Brewer Library • Dunkin Donuts • Fillback Ford • Ithaca Lions Club • Kelly’s Coffee • Pizza Hut • Richland County Bank • Subway • Symons Recreation Complex • Walmart Richland Center • Walsh’s Ace Hardware • WCCU Credit Union

Join us in congratulating Ashley, Dustyn, and baby Lilliana!

Obesity has become an epidemic, and with it, a flood of conflicting advice on how to eat right and move more. Tackling obesity head-on, from a place of compassion, understanding, and knowledge brought Allison Ewing, family nurse practitioner, to The Richland Hospital and Clinics almost ten years ago.

Allison joined Dr. James Dickman in helping administer his health and wellness program called “Get Fit,” which he introduced a decade prior. Their work has been instrumental in helping people improve their overall health. “Some call it a weight loss clinic, and yes, that’s a part of it, but it goes far beyond numbers on a scale,” says Allison. “This is a medical approach combined with lifestyle modifications.”

Learn more about the Get Fit program and the work that Allison is doing in our community in the upcoming edition of Horizons, coming soon to mailboxes and digital subscribers.

About a year ago, The Richland Hospital and Clinics (TRHC) embarked on an innovative journey into rheumatology care through an exciting pilot program developed in partnership with the Orion Initiative at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. This collaboration created a connection between TRHC and the UW academic medical community.

“Access to this sort of specialty care was not available in our area. Rheumatology impacts residents of all ages,” said Dr. Brian Kroll, family physician with The Richland Hospital and Clinics, and UW School of Medicine and Public Health alum. “That meant our patients faced referrals to other hospitals which required long drives and long waits for appointments,” he continued. By agreeing to participate in a mini fellowship offered through the Orion Initiative, TRHC found a better way to bring this essential care home.

Read more about how the Orion Initiative partnership benefits members of our community in our upcoming edition of Horizons. Subscribe to our newsletter at www.richlandhospital.com to get Horizons delivered directly to your email address, or keep an eye out for the printed editions coming soon to area mailboxes.

“The Richland Hospital is my hospital of choice,” said Michael Glass as he was awaiting discharge after a pretty lengthy stay. “In fact, I was born here,” he added. This 65-year-old semi-retired, in-home care provider knows his way around the health profession.

Michael worked as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) for 36 years, including 21 years at Pine Valley right here in Richland Center. “This place is filled with good nurses, good aides, and good doctors. I can’t name just one, they’re all great. Even the housekeeping staff checks in on me,” he continued. Originally from Blue River, Michael now lives in Muscoda, just six blocks from his primary care providers at Muscoda Health Center.

To read more about Michael's story or how TRHC is caring for, educating, and healing our community, subscribe to the Horizons digital newsletter at www.richlandhospital.com, or keep an eye out for a printed copy coming soon.
