The past few months holding these town halls, I have been in contact with some pretty incredible, bold and courageous individuals.
Recently, I have noticed a lot more moms and dads coming to me, sharing their stories of their children's V@x injuries and how difficult it was to find information, qualified doctors and practitioners, or to even just get the respect of their loved ones to acknowledge that what happened to their child was real. No matter how many v@x injured children I see, it never seems to get easier. I have even seen my friends and family's once perfectly healthy children, develop symptoms of injury and know what the culprit was. The hard part is, how do you tell a parent, "Hey, I think little Jimmy is having a reaction to that M-M-R he just had..." There is so much guilt that comes with acknowledging that your child is injured. You think it is your fault. Maybe that is why many parents refuse to do so.
I just want to say, if that is you, looking back and trying to decide when you saw a drastic change in your child, whether it be their behavior, their personality, control of bodily function or anything at all, you are welcome to come and let it all out to me. NO JUDGEMENT!!! I want to help you and your child. I am not here to point a finger or say, "I told you so."
There are things you can do, and the sooner, the better! I may not have all the answers but I can get you acquainted with the right people who have the answers you need to get on the road to recovery.
Our babies are just so very precious. We make the best decisions we can with the information we have available to us at the time. If you need it, I am here to help. Even if that just means praying for you!
