🌟 Volunteers Needed – My Guy & I 2025! 🌟

Rise Therapy & Wellness, in partnership with the Richland Area Community Center, is excited to host inclusive, sensory-friendly spaces at the My Guy & I Dance on Saturday, November 8, 2025 (6:00–8:00 PM) at Gull Lake High School!

We’re looking for amazing volunteers to help make this event a success:

🧺 Friday, Nov. 7 (5:30–6:30 PM) – Prep & organize sensory materials
🚚 Saturday Morning (9:00 AM–12:00 PM) – Load, transport, and set up equipment at Gull Lake High School (large vehicles appreciated!)
🎉 Pre-Party at Rise (4:30–5:30 PM) – Set up, greet families, and support guests before the dance
💃 Dance Support & Cleanup (6:00–8:30 PM) – Check-in, manage sensory spaces, pass out fidgets, and help keep things running smoothly

Experience working with kids or neurodivergent individuals is a bonus — but all helping hands are welcome!

Seeking General Contractor / Handyman – Contract Opportunity

Rise Therapy & Wellness is expanding! We’re seeking a licensed general contractor or skilled handyman to assist with Phase 3 of our build-out — adding additional treatment rooms and supporting ongoing improvements at our Richland location.

This is a contract-based opportunity ideal for someone experienced in small commercial renovations, healthcare settings, or adaptive build-outs.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Is reliable, detail-oriented, and communicates clearly

- Can manage or assist with drywall, framing, paint, flooring, and finish work

- Understands ADA accessibility and sensory-friendly design principles (a plus!)

Project Details:

Contract work: Available to work starting in November

Initial scope: construction of 2–3 new treatment rooms, with potential for continued work

Join our neuro-affirming, trauma-informed team at Rise Therapy & Wellness and Rise Sports in Richland, MI.

We’re expanding our space and inclusive programs this December and are looking for caring, energetic Therapy Support Assistants and Sports Support Coaches to help our therapists, coaches, and administrative team support our mission of creating spaces where everyone can thrive.

This is a great opportunity for high school or college students (minimum age 16 years old) interested in occupational therapy, healthcare, sports, or education who want hands-on experience in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Positions: Part-time, with potential for growth
Pay: Dependent on experience
Start Date: December 2025

Sensory Space 101
Operated by Rise Therapy & Wellness occupational therapy and support staff
Adult check-in required for all participants
Signed consent and liability waiver required before entry
Capacity: Approximately 10 individuals at a time
Time Limit: 15–20 minutes per session
Shoes off before entering the sensory area
Hand sanitizer encouraged upon entry
Calming sensory tools and activities provided and sanitized between users

Hey mamas!

Just a friendly reminder not to forget your tickets for this year's My Guy & I fundraiser dance-we seriously can't wait to SEA you there!

We heard your feedback loud and clear, and we've made a change. This year's dance will run from 6-8 PM instead of 7-9, so your littles can still get their groove on and make it home for bedtime.

It's still our beloved glow party, but with a splash of something new-we're diving under the sea this time! Think glowing jellyfish, ocean vibes, and plenty of fun for you and your favorite guy.

About Ava: 🧡
Ava, a 3rd year OT student at Western Michigan University, recently completed her Level II fieldwork experience with Rise Therapy & Wellness.

Her strong interest in pediatrics and sensory integration was evident in her work, where she consistently supported children and families through a strengths-based, neuroaffirming lens.

🧡Outside of OT, Ava enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, boating, and traveling. Please join us in congratulating Ava on completing her fieldwork with Rise!

We’re grateful for the impact she made during her time here and wish her the very best as she continues on to her next experience in becoming an occupational therapy professional.
