So I (Sara) went to the International Lymphedema Framework Conference in Niagara Falls, On , Canada. 35 countries were represented and it was amazing to hear all the research projects going on around the world. I ran into one of my students from Taiwan, Una Tsai. I am so proud of what she has accomplished with this work!!

The keynote speaker, Dr Wei Chen, talking about Alzheimers disease, lymphedema of the brain!! (Watch for case studies using MLD, I am inspired!)

The conference was followed by a teacher’s review with all the wonderful DVSI Level 1, 2 & 3 technique teachers from North America (and one Irishman, Meadhe Sweeney!). We meet in person wvery two years to make sure our hand skills and teaching techniques stay up to par. (Our motto is Excellence In Our Hands!)

In between we saw the beautiful falls. Wow! And a rainbow in blue skies.

Meet other moms, build community, and stay for a mommy-and-me workout!

At this fun and informational community event, you will learn about:

Brain changes in pregnancy and postpartum

Connecting with your baby during pregnancy using mindfulness skills

Postpartum s*x (do we need to say more?)

Common pelvic floor complaints in pregnancy and postpartum

The intersection of sleep and mental health (hello tired moms’ club!)

How traditional postpartum practices protect parents’ mental health

WHAT: A community event to learn about tips, tools, and resources for thriving mental health for pregnant and postpartum parents. At this event you will meet other parents and perinatal providers; the event includes breakout sessions and an optional mommy-and-me workout (yoga or pilates-style).

WHO: For pregnant and postpartum parents of all ages. No matter how old your baby is, you are welcome. (Yes, even if they are 10!)
