How do you quantify your self worth?
We recently read an article about self-worth. How do you quantify or calculate yours? In 2024 if you have an exterior job IE working for someone else, a corporation etc. there may be many calculators or quantifiers following your work and progress.... the age old clock in and clock out. Money is often touted as a quantifier of your worth. If you have a humble yet necessary job do you feel as good as someone making $140,000 a year?

If you think about it money shows an exterior value of what we are worth but that is all. When you think of friends do you think of their net worth or do you think of how they treat you, how they treat their family, pets and the world around them? Some of the least financially secure people can often be described as a wonderful boon to society...those caring for others, helping when they don't need to and have no remuneration or just creating something beautiful perhaps out of nothing... shells off the beach, or a daub of mud.

Today, a Tranquil Mind Clinical Hypnotherapy performed a trauma reversal for a serious traumatic event that has plagued someone's life for 4 years with numerous triggers and unwanted memories resulting in panic attacks, high anxiety and lack of productivity in her job. Hypnotherapy using hypnosis for therapy is NOT alternative therapy! And no it is NOT some strange control mechanism or something "woo woo" and you won't be made to cluck like a chicken!

These strange and mysterious and completely wrong and erroneous ideas about hypnosis have grown up around Hollywood and their perception... probably nearly 80 years ago...when they thought it would be fun to use it as an example of being able to do mind control. This all came about because the film industry was not educated and there were no mechanisms to educate them at that time and it made a drama-filled, good movie!

Move on 80 years and Hollywood is still doing it! Add in stage hypnosis ...which is not hypnosis at all ... and one has quite substantial influence over people's idea of what people think hypnosis is!

What it is NOT is alternative therapy! Hypnotherapy has been used in hospitals for 40 or 50 years. A Tranquil Mind Clinical Hypnotherapy has had clients that had successful hypnotherapy treatment 40 years ago or more for such things as overcoming breast cancer. It is now quite routinely used for that and many other ailments and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, such as ourselves, is qualified to work in a hospital or trauma center.

It would take too long here to explain what stage hypnosis is and why people comply but suffice to say there are followers and there are leaders and some people will just follow... sometimes called "sheep" (no offense meant here)!

Zoom zoom ...but does everybody feel comfortable... or maybe fearful using this?

The new 2-year COVID trend to do classes, meetings and more on our laptops or phones etc (or even making videos) can produce some fearful results!

Appearing in front of numerous people and having to speak which is akin to being on TV can be anxiety making, fear making, just plain uncomfortable and possibly give way to panic attacks!

The number one fear in America and probably elsewhere is speaking in public! The aforementioned video meetings and classes can be a very similar experience. Psychologically this can prevent people from wanting to attend classes or meetings because
a) they now see themselves as other people see them (a totally different self-image than they thought!)
b) they feel judged
c) it impacts there self-worth and self-esteem and self-confidence.. and more

If you read some of my prior blogs this is the old chestnut. Self-worth and self-esteem and self-confidence are all linked to self image and in this hypnotherapist's opinion, the most important part all of the therapy we use.
