Making the Choice 24 I want to inspire people to take better care of themselves by being active and eating well. The first step is always the hardest. It's a constant battle.

It can be difficult trying to lose those extra pounds and get into shape. Sometimes it's frustrating with trying program after program and not having long term success. I know what it's like to suffer from food addictions. But I'm here to tell you that there is HOPE! You can still lose weight and feel comfortable in your own skin. You do not have to be a prisoner to your health. Consistency and having accountability is an important part of the journey. I can customize a program to maximize your efforts based on your individual needs. Being both a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and an Advocare Independent Distributor, it gives me the knowledge to give you the best information possible. I have helped numerous people lose weight, reshape their bodies and regain their confidence. Not only that, I, myself, have followed the program and have lost 100lbs and accomplished fitness goals that I only dreamt about. I am still a work in progress. I am not perfect nor do I have a perfect body. I have my good days and my bad days. I want to show you that it's not about being skinny. It's about finding the "healthy you." Weight loss happens when you start watching what you put into your body. Everyone looks different and everyone is different. I want to show you that you do not have to be perfect. Everyday is a day to make a choice. Just like my business name - Making the Choice 24. You have to make the choice every day, every hour. I am passionate about helping you reach your goals and to teach you along the way. It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle change. Your success is my success and I will do everything to help you achieve your goals.

I eat vegan 95% of the time. No I’m not technically a vegan. But I have been eating this way for going on 5 years. I truly enjoy eating this way.

I can pretty much go most places and find something to eat. I might have to ask for some accommodations. And here’s the awesome part, I’ve had excellent luck in asking the chef/cook to put something together for me.

This was my breakfast plate from Sterlings Restaurant on Clearwater. If you’re in the TriCities, you know the place. Doesn’t it look beautiful??

It’s hash browns piled high with all the veggies they had in the back. Yay, for Sterlings!! It was so so good! 😋😋

This past Sunday was the Bridge of the Gods Half Marathon. So fun! Amazing views!!

Every time I step out of my comfort zone, I have the opportunity to see things that I never would’ve never seen otherwise.

I plan on being comfortable with being uncomfortable. This is my 10th half marathon. I’ve completed many other runs and way longer distances as well. But there is something about 13.1 miles that is just right before crazy. 😉 😂

I think that every person I know should train and complete a half marathon. It takes commitment and to push past the “no’s” and “I’m not feeling it today” to get it done. You learn a lot about yourself and what you ARE capable of. Plus you become a different person afterwards. You starting believing in YOU!

Stay active. Get up and move. ✌️✌️

Rest day. So I decided to meal prep a bit.

Here is one of my favorite salads at the moment. Well it’s part of a recipe I came across. I made some modifications and it turned into a salad. It’s so good!! Cabbage, cucumbers, red onions, minced garlic, and tomatoes in a sweet and sour dressing. I’m thinking of adding red bell pepper the next time. It’s so light and fresh.

Really enjoy it with some beans and rice. A drizzle of cashew cream sauce 😋😋

The last time, I made a taco, using a corn tortilla, with this salad slaw and topped it with avocado slices. 🤤

“How do you stay motivated?”

That’s a great question! I know what being unmotivated feels like. Did you know that about a year ago Oreos were my best friend and I didn’t really exercise? 😱 Yup. How did I get out of it?

I became AWARE. Became of AWARE of my body.

I am aware of the way my body feels when I don’t exercise. I am aware of the way my body feels when I eat certain foods. I am aware of the way my body feels from sitting for long periods of time. I am aware of how I am emotionally and mentally when I don’t exercise or eat well.

Granted there are days when exercise SUCKS and I just want to EAT any and ALL the junk food I can. And sometimes those kind of days win, BUT I am still aware. And that helps me get past it or go through it. 💙

It’s not easy. But it is doable.

Savory Couscous 😋

Sauté approximately 4 green onions, 1 1/2 c chopped tomatoes, 1/4 red bell pepper, 1/2 tbsp basil, 1 garlic, minced. (Used water to sauté) Add cooked couscous (1 c uncooked). Salt and pepper, if you like. Blend well. Sprinkled a tbsp of balsamic vinegar on top. Quick stir. Bake at 350 for 20 min.
