Both children have been located and are safe. Thank you to all the community members who called in sightings of them. It takes a village!

Missing Children

On 4-30-26, just after midnight, 12-year-old Angeline Apelu and her 8-year-old brother Alexander Apedlu were discovered missing by their family. They appear to have left on foot into the woods to the East of their apartment complex, 207 East apartments, at about the 200 block of Meridian Ave E in the city of Edgewood.

Angeline is described as a 12-year-old female of Pacific Islander descent, approximately 4 feet tall and weighing about 130 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what clothing she is wearing. Alexander is described as an 8-year-old male, of Pacific Islander descent, about 3 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing approximately 115 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what clothing he is wearing.

They were last seen at home around 9:30 PM the night before. There is no foul play suspected at this time.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of these children, please call the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office by dialing 911.

We know there are cats popping up everywhere right now… like tiny whiskered confetti you didn’t plan for but suddenly have a lot of. 🐾✨

Kitten season is in full swing, and we’re feeling it from every direction. Right now, we’re caring for 22 adult cats and 16 kittens in the shelter, plus more in foster homes—and our Community Pet Food Pantry shelves have taken a serious hit this week.
