As the weather shifts, many people notice their mood or energy dip. It’s called seasonal affective disorder (SAD), and it’s more common than you think.

According to recent data, about 5% of U.S. adults experience SAD each year.

Here are a few small ways to take care of your mental health this season:
-Get sunlight and fresh air when you can.
-Reach out for connection, even when you don’t feel like it.
-Keep small rituals that help you feel grounded.

If sadness or fatigue linger, professional support can help you find steadiness again.

How are you doing today? Not the quick answer you give others, but the one you keep to yourself.

Take a minute to pause and listen to what your mind and body are asking for. Sometimes awareness is the first step toward balance.

Open dialogue with children isn’t just conversation—it’s connection, understanding, and trust in action.

When young people feel heard, they’re more likely to share their feelings, develop emotional insight, and ask for help when needed.

On National Communicate with Your Kids Day, try these connection-starters:
1. Spend quality time together without screens.
2. Take a walk together.
3. Ask open-ended questions about their day.

Recovery is built one choice, one conversation, and one small act of courage at a time.

Our teen eating disorder program supports that process—helping teens develop coping skills, rebuild confidence, and stay connected to care even during the busy holiday season.

Healing is possible, and support makes all the difference.

Our Story

Established in 2015, Recovery and Wellness Center of Eastern Washington is the area's first treatment facility providing partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for the treatment of eating disorders. In addition to our eating disorder programs, we provide intensive outpatient treatment programs for depression and anxiety.

All programs utilize a therapeutic, evidence-based curriculum containing lessons that are Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy based. We recognize and appreciate that each person's journey through life is unique and therefore, so is their treatment. Our experienced medical doctor, licensed therapists, and registered dietitians partner with our patients to create an individualized treatment plan focused on recovery.

Our facility, treatment team and therapeutic curriculum encompass the following values:

Courage...Strength...Hope...Wisdom...Grace...Health
