The month of April also is recognized as National Occupational Therapy (OT) Month. Please join us in thanking the other half of the Clinch Valley OT Team, the COTAs, Kasey Duty, Jessica Whitt, and Kristen Mounts!
"Hi! I’m Kasey Duty, a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant here at Clinch Valley Medical Center. I’ve been in OT for 17 years, and I love helping people get back to doing the things they enjoy every day and gaining their independence. Around here, I work Skilled Rehabilitation and Acute Care and I especially enjoy working with geriatrics. Outside of work, I’m attending Church and spending time with my husband, two sons and family. Favorite part of my job? Watching progress happen one small win at a time and seeing my patients return home and care for themselves."
"Hey! I'm Jessica, a COTA/L here at Clinch Valley Medical Center. I've been in OT for 23 years and I love helping people get back to doing the things they enjoy every day. Around here, I work with mostly the geriatric population and especially enjoy working with patients who have had (CVAs) strokes/ orthopedic injuries and/or surgery. Outside of work, I'm usually with my family, at church, reading and I also love travel/cruising! My favorite part of my job? Watching progress happens one small win at a time and trying to be a help to someone during their recovery."
"Hey everyone! I’m Kristen Mounts, one of the COTA’s at Clinch Valley Medical Center. I have been practicing for 10 months, and no two days ever look the same—which keeps things interesting! I enjoy working with the geriatric population, especially when I get to help patients reach goals that increase their functional mobility to regain the skills needed for everyday activities in addition to becoming as independent and confident as possible. When I’m not at work, you can find me reading, working puzzles, doing embroidery, going to the Barter Theatre, and spending time with my family, friends, and sweet dog, Max. I love being part of a team that helps people get back to what matters most!"
Thank you guys for all the great OT work that empowers people to participate in the everyday activities that brings meaning, purpose, and independence to their lives!
