Every year on March 22nd, we recognize Lynch Syndrome Awareness Day.

What is it? Lynch Syndrome is an inherited condition that increases the risk of cancers like colorectal and uterine, and in reality, many people don’t even know they have it. It is estimated that 1 million people in the U.S. are unaware they’re carriers.

What can you do? If you have a personal or family history of early-onset colorectal or uterine cancer, talk to your healthcare provider about whether testing is right for you. Early detection can make all the difference.

Questions? Contact our very own Hereditary Cancer Coordinator at CVMC, Leanne Keen, at 276-596-6115.

Colorectal cancer is the 3rd most diagnosed cancer in the US. But the good news is there are more than 1.5 million survivors of colorectal cancer in the United States. Because colorectal cancer is preventable with screening. Colorectal cancer doesn't always show symptoms—that's why it's so important to get screened. If you're 45 or older, it's time to get screened. Find any potential warning signs of colon cancer early, when treatment is most effective. Talk to your provider about scheduling your colonoscopy.

Striking up support for a great cause!

Clinch Valley Health was proud to participate in the Kiwanis Bowling for Kids Tournament! Our team had a fantastic time hitting the lanes, sharing some laughs, and supporting an organization that makes a positive impact in the lives of children in our community.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to come together outside the workplace and give back in meaningful ways.

Check out some of our staff in action - there may have been a few strikes… and a few gutter balls too.

Clinch Valley Health would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Richlands High School Boys and Girls Basketball teams for their generous contribution to the Clinch Valley Auxiliary Cancer Patient Fund.

This meaningful donation helps provide gas cards for patients who need assistance traveling to and from their treatments - removing barriers and ensuring they can access the care they need.
