1 in 4 people with diabetes DO NOT KNOW THEY HAVE IT. (As of the most recent data from the CDC and International Diabetes Federation)
⚠️ Why So Many Go Undiagnosed
• Type 2 diabetes can develop slowly and silently — symptoms like fatigue, frequent urination, or blurry vision are often dismissed.
• People may not get regular blood work or screenings.
• Limited access to healthcare or testing in some areas.
🧪 How to Catch It Early
If you’re wondering whether you or someone else might be at risk, the following screening tests are commonly used:
• A1c test
• Fasting blood glucose
• Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT)
People over age 35, or younger adults with risk factors (like obesity, family history, high blood pressure, or sedentary lifestyle), should get screened.
At Balance we increase access to care and place an emphasis on screenings and prevention.
