Exciting things happening at ! We celebrated our 2nd birthday in 2024 and are approaching our 3rd. We feel so blessed and immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to help women through what will hopefully end up being the most important season of their lives. We are even more grateful to let everyone know that we will be opening a recovery home for men this coming month! This has been on our hearts for quite some time, as we get many calls from men who are looking for more options in our area with a “traditional” setup where they have the opportunity to work and transition back into everyday life without participating in a program. We will still be providing support to our men to help meet their needs initially, as we understand how hard it can be in early recovery transitioning to a new home and a new life. We look forward to serving many more women and now men in recovery who have finally made the decision to live the fulfilling, rewarding life that they deserve. We are also so proud of the women who have journeyed through our program and worked so hard at regaining their lives and independence; choosing to stay on the road to recovery even after leaving the program! Share the good news with your friends and family! It’s always a good day when another opportunity opens up for those choosing recovery to receive the love and support they need in order to be successful! We are so proud of our ladies every day, but we were especially proud of them when they gave their presentations last week. We asked them to think back to when they were in the miserable cycle of addiction and think about what their outlook on life was. Were they excited for the future? Were they happy and grateful to have woken up that morning? Were they setting goals and growing? The answer to all of these questions for all of our clients was without a doubt no. We then asked them to think about how much their lives have changed since coming to John’s Wings and working a program of recovery. They created these beautiful boards that represented their thoughts regarding each time period in their lives and they all were so emotional when they presented them. The difference in their thoughts, their actions and overall lives is so different today. They WANT to wake up in the morning. They WANT to be a part of their kids lives. They WANT to get jobs and take care of their responsibilities. They want to live. ❤️

We are so grateful to be able to be a tiny part of their journey and look up to these ladies so much for their strength, resilience and their choice to stay and fight the good fight every single day.

Thanks to our team at John’s Wings Recovery and Wellness Center for the services they provide these women and the unending support and love they show our clients every day.

John would be so proud of the work that is being done to help those in recovery from mental illness and substance use disorder in his name. ❤️

Good Monday Morning! 🌞 It's a beautiful day to have a beautiful day!

I know some of us in recovery have had to go through legal battles for past transgressions that happened in our active addiction. Most professionals involved in these cases are officials elected by the people. Judges are attorneys, obviously, before they are elected to be judge. The Commonwealth and County attorneys are also elected officials licensed to practice law in the state.

If you ever have any concerns about how you are treated by any of these people, there are many places and ways to hold them accountable for their actions. Judges have the Judicial Conduct Comittee, the Legislative Ethics Committee, the Attorney General's office, as well as the KY Bar Association. You also have the local government, however it may not be useful to file local because of the small town "good old boy" system, as my friend Jessica calls it when she talks about her small town. 😊 Most corruption spans wider than just one branch of local government. County and Commonwealth Attorneys can be held accountable by the Bar Association, the Attorney General's office, the KY Legislative Ethics Commission and also with city and local government. Concerns or complaints on Public Defenders and private attorneys can be filed in these same places, although Public Defenders obviously have a much larger duty as sworn in officials to be ethical and moral. Employees of these offices can be involved as well, if concerns or complaints involve them.

These methods are only a drop in the bucket of the many ways you can hold these individuals accountable if they have violated your constitutional rights, their duties as a sworn in elected official, their oath to the people to be fair, unbiased and ethical at all times, or any other mistreatment you may have been subjected to by anyone involved in any legal proceedings.

This is not legal advice, as I'm not an attorney. Just a few helpful facts to my brothers and sisters in recovery.

Hoping everyone has a beautiful, sunshiney Monday! Move with integrity and help someone with no expectations today and I promise your day is guaranteed to be AMAZING! ❤️
