Spring is definitely here! The trees have started to get buds of new leaves and pollen is everywhere.

For many of us, along with the beautiful flowers and full beautiful oak trees comes: nasal congestion, runny nose, red itchy-watery eyes, and sneezing.

Reminders:
1) Check medicine cabinets for antihistamines. (Swipe to see)
2) Wash hands and face after playing outside.
3) Change clothes after playing outside and after school.
4) Close windows and doors throughout the worst of it.
5) Nasal irrigation and saline spray can help.

Here are the top 6 essential vitamins for growing kids!

Do kids need vitamin supplements? If your child eats the rainbow, isn’t picky, and eats meat; than your little one likely doesn’t need a vitamin supplement! The American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend supplementing over the daily recommended nutritional vitamin intake in children who are growing normally.

You can always discuss vitamin supplementation with your House Calls for Kids provider or Pediatrician.

A well balanced diet is the best source of vitamins and nutrients.

Exclusively breastfed babies, diet restrictive and picky eaters, vegan and vegetarian children may also be missing some crucial vitamins. If you choose to supplement your child with a multivitamin, makes sure you read the labels and see what is in it. Choose one that is for your Childs age group. Too much of anything is a bad thing and the same thing applies for vitamins.
