We were thrilled to welcome VCU dental program graduates to provide oral health education and cancer screening to our residents.

On Tuesday, March 31st, Bryce and Matt facilitated the seminar portion of our program. This session focused on the importance of oral health, oral cancer risk factors, and guidance on accessing dental care resources.

On Wednesday, April 1st, all members of our group facilitated the activity portion of our program. This includes oral cancer screenings as well as oral hygiene instruction and nutrition information tables.

Ms. Marion Manski, Dental Hygiene Program Director at VCU, oversaw the oral cancer screening.

I truly love what I do and feel incredibly blessed to be part of organizations that are so dedicated to helping individuals who are struggling with substance use disorder. 💙

Our purpose at today’s event was to help address the gap in services at Richard Bland College by building trust, strengthening connections, and fostering community resilience. We were proud to provide direct access to off-campus care, support, and resources for those who need it most.

It’s always inspiring to come together with the community to make a real difference. 💫

For years, Starfish Recovery and Wellness has been making a powerful impact in the recovery community by helping individuals reclaim their lives from addiction.
A large part of that impact comes from the dedication and leadership of Frank Bellanger, who has always put his heart and soul into supporting people on their recovery journey. His passion for helping others is evident in the work he does every day.
Recovery requires courage and honesty. Many individuals entering recovery initially focus on external factors out of fear of confronting the deeper work that true healing requires. But lasting recovery happens when someone is willing to put in the work and surround themselves with the right support system.
