Update from mom
Doctor Liu was able to place a permanent feeding tube today. He said was the biggest challenge. However, he couldn't close the fistula bc one of the previous placed Ovesco clips is in the way. He has already ordered the equipment device that it takes to remove the clip safely.
He hopes she can get that done somewhere faster and not have to wait. Just to emphasize they have located the tear but cant get to it until 1 ovesco clip from July is removed.
Nina is currently in mild hypothermia when she warms we will get to go home. She is struggling a little to get warm.
Thank you for all the prayers & please continue them for her to recover & get the clips rearranged & fully close this fistula!

Nina’s update:
She will being having a procedure done Friday 9/9 at U of L to try to gain access to close stomach fistula (channel) and try to replace a peg for a permanent feeding tube. This has been done 3 times before and 4 Ovesco clips have been placed, but enough time has passed and this doctor has a few different techniques that they want to try again. Please be in prayer for her. If this fails they are sending her to Cleveland.

No admission!
Once home we will update others. Please be mindful we are traveling so we can not answer all calls & texts. Aka I (Ashley) can’t GPS, monitor Nina, & respond on the phone. Lol.
So far she has traveled SUPER WELL! Thank you, Jesus! She has been back (for now) for 2 days, concerning her personality & energy. PTL!
The rest we are going to absorb & focus on traveling safely home then we will focus on posting the whole plan that UofL outpatient has in store.
