Happy National Therapy Animal Day from the team at Evolve Dental Care!

April 30th - "National Therapy Animal Day" was created by Pet Partners to:

🐾Recognize and honor therapy dogs and other therapy animals who partner with their human companions (handlers) to bring comfort and healing to those in need:

🐾Raise awareness and educate the public about the role therapy animals play in enhancing the health and well-being of humans.

🐾Honor the thousands of dedicated handlers who volunteer their time and compassion during visits in a variety of settings including hospitals, pediatric care units, schools, and assisted living facilities.

Our therapy dog Ocho visited one of our local community partners…Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center Richmond for a free health and neurology checkup at Hardywood West Creek on Sunday!! Great people, fantastic weather, good tunes ‘n brews, and so many dogs!!

A big thank you to FETCH a Cure for putting on such an incredible event ! Our original therapy dog, Chatham, was a cancer patient, so this cause is especially close to our hearts 💛

Enjoy your ride to Heaven Dr. Covington. You have touched many lives and brought forth many smiles. I am truly blessed to be your successor. As you instructed, I "will not forget who I am."

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr. William D. Covington (DDS '62), who passed away Wednesday morning. Covington taught at VCU School of Dentistry every week for 55 years, and was beloved by generations of dental students and patients. He was also a valued member of the school’s alumni board and the MCV Foundation board, contributing to our community with unwavering commitment and passion.

While details about arrangements are still forthcoming, the Covington family has kindly requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the William D. Covington, DDS, MAGD Scholarship at VCU School of Dentistry, supporting the next generation of dentists in his honor.

Dr. Covington was an inspiration, admired and respected by his colleagues and students. Please join us in holding his family and loved ones in our thoughts during this difficult time.
