It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr. William D. Covington (DDS '62), who passed away Wednesday morning. Covington taught at VCU School of Dentistry every week for 55 years, and was beloved by generations of dental students and patients. He was also a valued member of the school’s alumni board and the MCV Foundation board, contributing to our community with unwavering commitment and passion.

While details about arrangements are still forthcoming, the Covington family has kindly requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the William D. Covington, DDS, MAGD Scholarship at VCU School of Dentistry, supporting the next generation of dentists in his honor.

Dr. Covington was an inspiration, admired and respected by his colleagues and students. Please join us in holding his family and loved ones in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Not only was May 1st a birthday celebration for Dr. Oliver but we also spent Saturday together as a sponsor of the LRGR's 7th Annual Tails on the Trails Dog Walk (In-Person AND Virtual). All three of our therapy dogs as well as the team came along for a 3 mile dog walk. It was a beautiful day to be surrounded by friends and dogs! Thank you Lab Rescue of Greater Richmond for all you do and for allowing us to support you and a great event!
