Meditation is commonly misunderstood as a practice to shut off your brain and tune out the world, but this is inaccurate.

"It is seeing things clearly, and deliberately positioning yourself differently in relationship to them. A willingness to embrace and work with what is, lies at the core of all meditation practice." (Jon Kabat-Zinn)

Take a few minutes today (or everyday!) to find a comfortable seat, close your eyes, and practice this breathing exercise. Pay attention to your breath and the way your body is feeling. Allow your thoughts to come in, acknowledge and say hello to them, and let them pass without judgement.
