What if… a day of care could become a memory shared forever?

Recently, one of our special clients and her daughter were treated to a spa day in Excelsior Springs, filled with pampering, relaxation, and time together.

Their day included a manicure and pedicure at Nice Nails, followed by a soothing massage at New Age Skincare and Spa. From the quiet moments of relaxation to the smiles shared along the way, it was a beautiful reminder that care comes in many forms.

For this mother and daughter, the day was more than a little pampering. It was time together. It was comfort. It was a chance to feel refreshed, loved, and celebrated.

Shirkey Hospice recently visited Cameron Nursing Home to share sensory items for memory care residents, inspired by a thoughtful idea from our volunteer, Diane.

Items included fidget books with different textures, watercolor activities, large puzzles, and sensory balls designed to provide comfort and engagement. We also treated the staff to a potato bar as a small thank you for all they do each day.

Shirkey Hospice recently visited Hillcrest in Hamilton to share sensory items for memory care residents, a thoughtful idea from our volunteer, Diane.

The items included fidget books with different textures, watercolor painting activities, large puzzles, textured sensory balls, and other hands-on activities designed to offer comfort, engagement, and meaningful moments for residents in memory care.

We also treated the Hillcrest staff to a potato bar as a small way to show our appreciation for the work they do each day. It was a wonderful visit and a great success!
