💙 Parents of children with congenital heart disease (CHD): Did you know that heart health and brain health are closely connected?

Children with CHD are at higher risk for neurodevelopmental and emotional challenges such as attention difficulties, learning struggles, or anxiety. These can affect school, friendships, and daily life—but early support makes a huge difference.

The Pediatric Symptom Checklist-17 (PSC-17) is a quick, research-based tool that helps parents notice areas where their child may need extra support.

👉 How to use it:

Read each question and check the box that best describes your child: Never, Sometimes, or Often.

If you find yourself checking more boxes on the right-hand side (Sometimes/Often), it may be time to talk with your child’s doctor, teacher, or a mental health professional.

🛑 This is not a diagnosis—but it is a helpful first step in spotting concerns early and getting your child the help they deserve.

✨ Remember: You are not alone. Many families of children with CHD face these challenges, and support is available. Early action leads to brighter outcomes.

💬 Have questions or need guidance? Reach out to your child’s care team—they’re here to help.
