Happy Thanksgiving!

We're so grateful for each and every one of you, and hope that you will be able to enjoy a safe and healthy holiday! Like many of you, we are preparing to spend the holiday with family.

The office will be closed Wed-Fri (11/27-11/29) for Thanksgiving. We will only be available via phone for urgent, time-sensitive concerns that cannot wait until the office reopens on Monday (12/2). Please be sure to leave a message and we will get back to you ASAP, but be sure to only call for emergencies. Any routine messages can be emailed and we will get back to you once we are back in the office.

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!

One of the main reasons we wanted to create more of a social media presence is because we wanted to raise awareness and share information about women’s health. We realized how little information is shared and how uncommon it is for women to truly understand what is going on in their bodies during their cycles. Today, we wanted to share why it is so important to chart your cycle and understand what your body is telling you, whether you are looking to get pregnant or not. Last week, Dr. Zackrisson spoke to some of the VCU medical students about treating the menstrual cycle as a “fifth vital sign” because abnormalities in your cycle could be an indicator of specific health problems. She also spoke to some of the undergraduates involved in VCU’s CCM to share a bit about her story and her work at Dignitas Health.

October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. Today we honor those families who know the pain of loss through miscarriage at any stage, stillbirth or in infancy. Sometimes all we can offer are prayers and support on the grieving journey, but we also strive to assist those experiencing infertility and miscarriage through a woman-focused, restorative approach to reproductive healthcare. Through education, fertility awareness, and applying restorative reproductive principles to our medical evaluation, we seek to restore health, identify threats to future pregnancy, and prevent ongoing loss. While grief often feels lonely, we honor those grieving, and remember you in our thoughts and prayers today.

Healthcare, Healed...
It's been our mission since opening Richmond's first Direct Primary Care practice seven years ago. Seven years later, it is still the driving force in providing comprehensive care to women and families, focused on dignity of those we serve and the irreplaceable nature of the patient-doctor relationship. Today we celebrate seven years of breaking the mold and loving it! Thanks for being part of our Dignitas Health Family!
