Virginia Eye Institute (VEI) is a comprehensive eye care organization providing a wide range of ophthalmology, optometry, and optical services in 8 locations across central Virginia. VEI offers exceptional ophthalmologic care—including cataract, cornea, glaucoma, retina, ocular plastics, pediatrics, and refractive surgery (LASIK). VEI also has an Aesthetic Center in Short Pump performing remarkabl

e cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries by our fellowship-trained specialists, and a Hearing Center at our Reynolds Crossing location with a dedicated audiologist. VEI also owns and operates an out-patient Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) which provides ophthalmology and cosmetic surgical services to pediatric and adult patients. VEI’s optical shops are ranked as one of the nation’s “50 Best Optical Shops”.

From Dunkin’ runs and Dr. Pepper breaks to homemade treats, lunches, and plenty of laughter, we loved celebrating our incredible ASC nurses and surgical team during Nurses Week.

Thank you for the compassion, teamwork, and care you bring to our patients every single day. Your dedication behind the scenes keeps VEI running smoothly, and we are so grateful for all that you do.

We’d also like to give a special congratulations to Ruth Westmoreland, who has been a valued COA and laser tech in the ASC since 2021 and recently graduated from nursing school. Ruth will now continue her journey with VEI as an OR RN, and we couldn’t be more excited for her.

This past Saturday, our team returned for PanCAN's PurpleStride walk as Team Miles for Marc, honoring the life and legacy of our former COO, Marc Miller. 💜

Together, we walked to raise awareness, support families affected by pancreatic cancer, and fund critical research.

And thanks to the incredible generosity of our team and community, we surpassed our goal and raised over $5,000! 🎉💜 Thank you to everyone who walked, gave, and cheered us on.
