Last week, our Program Coordinator Kenzie represented Commonwealth Autism at the Neurodiversity Inclusion Outreach Fair at Tidewater Community College!

Alongside other incredible service providers, we supported TCC students in exploring life and career paths that honor their passions and celebrate the beauty of human neurodiversity.

Kenzie also shared an infographic full of executive functioning resources and tools to help students build confidence and independence!

Our speed interviewing day took place last week and it was both challenging and fun for all involved!

Program interns overcame the overstimulating environment and were able to ask great questions and study strong interview practices from Commonwealth Autism and Good Foods Grocery team members.

The classroom portion of the Career Readiness and Employment program is in session!

Today, the Commonwealth Autism staff will be participating in Speed Interviewing sessions where interns will ask staff questions and study good interviewing practices.

These sessions are designed to give our interns valuable experience in a supportive environment, helping them to hone their skills and gain confidence in their abilities. The format encourages quick thinking and effective communication, mirroring real-world interview scenarios.

We're excited to see the growth and learning that takes place during these sessions, and we’re committed to providing ongoing support and guidance to our interns as they prepare for future employment opportunities. Stay tuned for updates and insights from the sessions!

As the new cohort begins their journey in the classroom, we want to reflect on the great work that’s been done in the last year.

Bureau of Labor Statistics reports 79% of people
with disabilities are unemployed.

Over 80% of our Career Readiness and Employment graduates are employed!
