Dr. Robert Tanner Freeman was born to formerly enslaved parents, he defied the odds and became the first black person to earn a dental degree from Harvard in 1869. Let's not forget Dr. Ida Gray Nelson Rollins, who shattered glass ceilings as the first black woman to join the dental profession in 1890! She graduated from the University of Michigan and went on to open her own practice, proving that nothing can stop a determined spirit! 💁‍♀️ These two pioneers are the epitome of perseverance and excellence, reminding us that our dreams are within reach! 🙌

Our Story

Dr. Leann Nguyen is a longtime resident of the Kansas City area. Dr. Nguyen attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry and graduated in 2007. Dr. Leann Nguyen is marred to Kyle and together they have three children Andrew, Alexander, and Addison.

She began practicing dentistry with a team of dental associates in Columbia, Missouri at the prominent Cherry Hill Dental. While there she increased her professional skill and knowledge. She was part of their team for about two years. In 2008, she started her own office and in 2015 opened Richmond Family Dentistry, LLC. Providing personalized and excellent dental care to Richmond, MO and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Nguyen is dedicated to improving her skills by attending continuing education classes and conferences across the country, keeping abreast of the latest techniques and technologies. She strives to make the finest dental care available to each one of her patients, something that was not available to her family growing up. She understands what it's like to be the patient. Dr. Leann loves to explain the many treatment options available to each one of her patients, empowering them to make healthy smile choices.
