Nurse Jordan Consultations on Advanced Directives (Living Wills), Patient Advocacy, Health Promotion, Expert Witness

I have been involved in the health care field almost 25 years. For most of that time, I was a nurse-midwife, and assisted women in the transition of birth and becoming a mother. As their provider, I helped them make conscious decisions about wellness and lifestyle changes, as well as medical care decisions about how they wanted to birth their babies. I was also involved in my personal life in supporting friends and family during terminal illnesses. This made me realize the need to help people in later transitions of life. My career as a nurse-midwife assisted me in the counseling and information-sharing that was needed during these times of transition. I received a B.A in English from the College of William and Mary, and promptly began the business of raising a family. After my third child was born, I decided to become a nurse-midwife, and then received a B.S in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. After being a Registered Nurse for two years, I attended Frontier School of Midwifery to attain my certification as a midwife and then obtained a Master’s Degree from Case Western Reserve University.
