Join us for our annual Prest Lecture and Luncheon on April 4!

This year, we are honored to welcome Rev. Dr. Anastasia Holman, Director of Chaplaincy Education at Indiana University Health System, who will present on our theme:
Bridging Tradition and Innovation: Leading Spiritual Care Practice Through Education, Research, and Vision.

The event will also feature a special alumni reflection from Rev. Dr. D. Mark Cooper (Patient Counseling Department Chair, 2008–2011; Class of 1975). Dr. Cooper will have copies of his latest book, Shifting Gears, available for purchase and signing.

This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to connect with faculty, staff, students, healthcare professionals, and community members while gaining valuable insights. We look forward to seeing you there!

Save the date for our annual Prest Lecture and Luncheon on April 4!

This year's guest lecturer is Rev. Anastasia Holman, Director of Chaplaincy Education for the Indiana University Health System. She is an ACPE Certified Educator and Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) and the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains (NAVAC). She currently oversees Spiritual Care Education which includes Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program and spiritual care education in the community for the IU Health System.

We are excited to share that Joel Nightingale Berning, MDiv, BCC, ACPE, is our 2024 Prest Lecture speaker! With his experiences and contributions in the area of chaplaincy education and certification, we are looking forward to Joel speaking on the topic of Navigating the Evolving Landscape of Chaplaincy Education.

Joel currently serves as a Manager in the Department of Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where he has been a chaplain since 2010. Joel is a board-certified chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC). He is a certified educator through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) which is the standard for spiritual care & education. Joel has served on the APC Board of Directors and the Board of Chaplaincy Certification, Inc. (BCCI) Commission on Certification. He supervises Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) as a Certified Educator of ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care & Education.

Our guest lecturer is John W. Kinney, Ph.D., Professor of Theology, Director, Center for African American Pentecostalism and Leadership Development at Virginia Union University.
