Yoga at EKU is on pause for a little bit. It’s been so fun to teach ESS 190/390 for the last couple of years. I have always loved teaching introductory Yoga classes, but this one has been especially fun, as I have had the chance to adjust each semester to figure out exactly how I want to teach the course. While it’s been a little different each time, I’ve stuck to the same tag line… I’m just showing up each class trying to change your life. 🤸🏻♂️😎
Breath work, intentional mindfulness, strong postures, gratitude… guiding these students through reflections about lifetime wellness and how principles of Yoga can impact life at every stage. As an EKU course requirement, they must find a peer reviewed article that advocates for the benefits of Yoga, and then reflect on the personal benefits they have experienced this semester. I love to read what they have to say, and I hope so much that our brief time together really does impact their life in the same way Yoga has impacted mine. 🧘🏻♀️💕
