VCU Medical Center Health and Wellness Library

VCU Medical Center Health and Wellness Library We provide patients, their family members, and the community with health information resources. Newly diagnosed? Need to know how to manage a chronic condition?

Want to learn more about wellness and nutrition? VCU Medical Center's Health and Wellness Library (formerly the Community Health Education Center, or CHEC) can help you find answers to your health questions. Our shelves are stocked with up-to-date, easy-to-understand books, magazines, audiotapes, videos and more. We are experts at finding information about health topics ranging from common conditions to rare diseases. Our knowledgeable librarians and volunteers will guide every step of your search. They can help you:

- Find information about a specific disease or condition
- Search for the latest treatment information
- Learn about clinical trials
- Access financial resources
- Connect with support groups and counseling services
- Find community resources where you live

We are also a full-service business center, offering:

- Public computers
- Printing, copying, scanning and faxing
- Ethernet port for internet use
- Wi-Fi
- Conference rooms
- Charging stations for mobile devices

And, we offer a quiet and peaceful place if you are in between appointments or waiting for test results. We also have a children's area with games, puzzles and picture books. The Health and Wellness Library is a partnership of VCU Health, VCU Libraries, and the VCU Medical Center Auxiliary, who recognized the ongoing and growing need for health information for our patients and community. All of our services are free. Our goal is to help you and your loved ones be well informed about your health.
