We will meet this Saturday, January 10, @ 10:30 a.m. at the Beulah Church Annex, 6930 Hopkins Rd, N Chesterfield, VA 23234.
Our scheduled speaker is Brittany Howard, Director of the Technology Assistance Program (TAP) at the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
The Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH) offers telecommunication equipment and assistive technology to qualified applicants as a solution to their communication needs through the Technology Assistance Program (TAP).

Assistive devices available through TAP includes:
Amplified telephones
Captioned Telephones
Personal FM Systems
Signalers

Other devices available by special request
Personal FM Systems
Signalers

We hope to have the program captioned and there is a hearing loop for attendees with a telecoil equipped hearing device.

Our next chapter meeting is Saturday, Oct. 11, @ 10:30 a.m. at the Beulah Church, 6930 Hopkins Rd, N Chesterfield, VA. Our speaker will be Thom Casey, a long time audiologist in this area and an HLAA member - speaking on the future of hearing care.

The meeting room is looped, and the program will be captioned. If you cannot attend in person, join us via ZOOM. Email us at info@hlaagreaterrichmond.org for the link.

As an added incentive, bring a friend with you to this meeting or the November meeting and be entered into a drawing for 2 tickets to one of the remaining open captioned theater performances at the Swift Mill Creek Playhouse. Tickets do not include lunch.

Our speaker will be Tom Hunt with GN Resound - where he supports hearing healthcare professionals in Virginia and North Carolina. He will talk about the Resound line of hearing aids, and particularly their new models with Auracast capability.

14 family interviews completed and transcribed. A few more to do. Just finished my first draft of the first story I’m tackling, and honestly I’m verklempt. Hearing loss occurs during early childhood for a variety of reasons, including cCMV. Never heard of it? Yeah. THAT’s part of the problem!
