We were thrilled to be part of Virginia Union University’s Career Fair this April! 🎓💼 So glad that we can continue providing Union students the opportunity to intern with us and learn our company in & out!

Retired Atlanta resident Nicky Crawford transformed a school bus into a mobile laundry service for the homeless with the help of Georgia Tech students. His nonprofit, Flowing with Blessings Inc., also offers showers, meals, haircuts, and health checks to those in need. Crawford’s mission is creating a family environment built on compassion and dignity. 🚌

This month, our fifth-grade queens explored the world of young entrepreneurship! 💼💡 Through engaging discussions and activities, they learned how to turn their ideas into action, build confidence, and use entrepreneurship as a tool for leadership & community impact.

From financial literacy to perseverance, these young leaders are discovering their power and potential every step of the way! 💪🏾💕 Plus, we reinforced our YQIA affirmations—because self-worth & confidence are key to success! 👏🏾✨

On February 4th, we had an amazing time participating in the Richmond Public Schools Career Exploration Fair at the Dewey Gottwald Center! It was inspiring to hear from high school seniors about their future goals and share more about the work we do at Mending Fences. Many students recognized our behavior aides from their schools, and it was exciting to see their enthusiasm about getting involved with us!

We love opportunities like this to connect with the next generation of professionals, and we look forward to joining more Richmond Public Schools career fairs in the future.

Shedding light on the statistics of homeless youth in Virginia is critical to understanding the profound impact on young people, many of whom are actively enrolled in school. These figures represent students facing housing instability, often alongside additional challenges like disabilities, language barriers, and a lack of family support.

For these children, homelessness can severely affect their academic performance, leading to missed school days, difficulties concentrating, and limited access to learning resources. By drawing attention to these numbers, we can raise awareness, rally community support, and advocate for resources and policies that help students overcome these barriers, giving them a better chance to succeed both in school and in life.
