🎶Therapy with a side of holiday cheer! 🎄 What better way to participate in physical rehab than by spreading joy through caroling? Our music therapist Audrey led the way with her guitar as our patients sang festive tunes and roamed the halls while working on their speech and physical therapy skills, filling our hospital with joy and smiles!

An unexpected green visitor stopped by right before Christmas. We didn’t invite him, but he made himself comfortable anyway, sneaking into photos and testing our rehab equipment. If anything turns up missing, we have a suspect… 🤔💚

‘Tis the season of giving 🎁🎄 This weekend, our patients practiced their dexterity and functional skills in occupational and recreational therapy by wrapping gifts for the Community Brain Injury Services Holiday Giving Tree! This meaningful project helps clubhouse members and families who could use a little extra support this season. We’re grateful to come together as a community to support those in need!

A friendly competition for a good cause! 📦🥫 We’ve teamed up with the Virginia Association of Rehabilitation Nurses to collect non-perishable food for GoochlandCares! The donation boxes at the nurses’ stations on each unit are filling up, and the unit with the box that weighs the most will win. 🏆 Our brain injury unit is currently in the lead with 107 pounds of donations, but there’s still time! Patients and visitors are welcome to donate as well until December 17. Which unit are you rooting for?

We had a joyful afternoon celebrating the season with our annual holiday lunch and festive attire day! 🍽️🍗🥧 Our servant leadership team served a special meal to our incredible team members, sprinkled with holiday cheer, to express gratitude for all they do to care for our patients, families, and one another during the holiday season and throughout the year to make Sheltering Arms Institute such a special place. A big thank you to our dining services team for preparing the delicious meal. 🍲🥄
