Family, by this time of the year, you would have seen posts on my timeline as we get ready for the Unity Ride 4 Sickle Cell. After last year Ride, we made the hard decision not to move forward with the Ride. But, let me be clear, the Ride may not happen but for our many supporters of Sickle Cell, our work continues. We've had a tremendous run with the support of our Motorcycle Family each year. For every MC that lead us for the past 15 years, we ❤️ you, for every person who contributed in some way, Second Baptist Church South Richmond , Zion Baptist, and many others we ❤️ you. This fight is not over, 1 out of 12 African-Americans has the Sickle Cell trait. We've seen growth in how we treat our Sickle Cell families. From one medication at the start to 8 ways (4 ways to be treated and 4 ways to be cured). Dr. Wally and his team at VCU healthsystems is working to make sure every Sickle Cell patient is cure, so the fight continues. Please consider staying in the fight with use by recognizing The first Saturday in May as Sickle Cell Support Day or make a donation anytime during the year... see QR Code...
