You can expect to be served delicious, lovingly prepared, nourishing food and beverages, a weekend curated especially with restoration, creativity, and joy in mind. There will be workshops as well as personal time to slow down… curled up with a custom made espresso drink and a book, with conversations by the fire pit, or just take a little nap in the middle of the day if that’s what you need. More to come 💫

Many of my cycling women clients get frustrated with themselves when they have more food cravings the week before their cycles start. Like they should be eating the same every day of the month or doing “better”. It’s hard to step back (me, too!) and see the bigger picture over the span of a ~month. May this be a gentle reminder that the body is wise (yes, even during hormonal shifts!) 💗

Happy Spring 🌱
Nettles Cold Infusion

1 cup organic dried nettle leaf
1 quart filtered, cold water
Optional: 1/4 cup milky oat pods, 2 TBS of mint; honey to sweeten (after pressing)

Combine water and herb(s), steep in cold water over night. Press. Drink throughout the day. Discard after 24 hrs.

Nettles is my first love and herb I found when studying botanical medicine in Seattle 15+ yrs ago. I also used to harvest it fresh and incorporate it into many a tasty spring dishes. This dried version is a fantastic and deeply nourishing spring tonic, especially if you don’t have nettles growing wild where you live.

🪴NETTLE BENEFITS 🪴

🍃Anti-inflammatory and anti-histamine support for spring allergies
🍃It’s a diuretic and helps flush out toxins and excess fluids from the blood and kidneys — think of it as a mild winter cleanse
🍃 Concentrated and deeply nutritive, rich in calcium, iron, magnesium, vitamins A, C, and K — you’d have to eat a hefty amount of kale and spinach to match the nutrient content in this infusion!

*** nettles is generally safe for most people in moderation. Caution: pregnancy, breast feeding, taking blood thinners, diabetes medications, diuretics, blood pressure medication, edema. Talk to you health provider first if you’re unsure.

I tell my patients this ALL the time. Consistency wins over intensity. Whether it’s meal planning, reducing processed foods, exercise habits, getting to bed by 10pm, 5 minutes of meditation/breath work a day, etc.

I build my week AROUND regular movement. It’s non-negotiable for me. My goals since I started CrossFit 1.5+ yrs ago were to:

1️⃣ show up consistently ~4x a week, modifying workouts as much as I needed (which is a lot)
2️⃣ have fun (because what are we even doing if we’re not having some fun?)
3️⃣ keep going because this is my longevity plan and one way I know to honor and care for this amazing body that carries me

So when I reflected today about how I was able to complete (time capped) all 3 CrossFit OPEN workouts for 2026 at the Rx level, I felt incredibly proud of how I showed up. Not just today but because of how I showed up consistently every day before. Also because I came from doing hot yoga to CrossFit 😂 — there was an adjustment period!

✨Be consistent. Have fun. ✨Whatever form of movement you choose.

A recent participant of my guided sugar cleanse shared this — and it’s a common theme I see time and again. The food noise CALMS. Something in us physiologically, psychological, biologically RESETS. We come HOME to ourselves.

So when people ask if eating more whole foods and less processed food has much effect… The answer is YES. I witness it ALL the time.

We have couples, siblings, friends, workout buddies, coworkers who sign up together and it’s always awesome to witness the shared experiences, the joy of accomplishment together, and additional accountability to stay strong when it gets hard. Or just someone to be grumpy with the first week 🤷🏻‍♀️

Looking forward to staring tomorrow! Still time to sign up - link in bio.

Two days left to sign up and join us! Link in bio. P.s. I’m doing this with you all. Let’s go!
