We give you the personal attention that you need to assure a proper fitting eyeglass frame, and one that makes you feel and look great. The styles we carry range from the demure, sophisticated and classic to artsy, fun, and playful. The atmosphere of our shoppe is an authentic, one of a kind experience and it is true to the Carytown name. People come to Carytown Optical instead ordering glasses online to experience just what we and our neighboring businesses have to offer. At Carytown Optical, we can also service your eyewear with an adjustment or an eyeglass repair. We are able to put prescription lenses into your frame, accept your eye doctor's prescription or just give you advice that you may be seeking. We can schedule and arrange your visit with Dr. Benjamin Gates, who specializes in contact lens fittings, astigmatism fittings and bifocal contact lens fittings. Dr. Gates offers out of network eye and contact lens exams for a reasonable flat fee! We highly suggest getting your eyes checked once a year to make sure your glasses stay up to date. Call now to set up an appointment!

We’re so happy to be serving the coolest city in the country, and would like to thank our customers in and as well for making the drive to come and see us.

We’ve evolved to be the candy store of eyewear through the years, but the shoppe has been a Richmond staple since 1983.

Cynthia Yates Allen has owned the shoppe since 1993, and says
