This little girl is an example of why the nurses at Kidz Kare love their jobs. Khali moved to RVA a year ago. She was very ill and severely malnourished therefore she was very delayed developmentally. We taught the parents the importance of food in order for brain development to occur. She has been on tube feeding and now several months later, she's making great strides in speech, following commands, and building new motor skills each week. Food is so vital and we see such improvements in brain function in the early years of life. Today she smiled and waved bye to me for the first time. My heart melted, that's a good day!

Parents take note that "screen" time is no substitute for one on one spoken interaction and play that nurtures babies language and development. So pull out a book or a toy with lights and sounds that they can touch and feel instead. And most importantly, TALK to your infant.

Ditch the devices; parental interaction trumps tech.

Kidz Kare is excited to announce that we have joined The Pediatric Connection. The Pediatric Connection is Richmond's premier medical equipment and private duty nursing provider for children. We are now adding Skilled Nursing to their services under a new division, known as Kidz Connection. Joining forces with TPC allows us to serve more families throughout VA.
