“Te..nac.i.ty”: the quality or fact of being very determined; determination.
I was once told, after continually showing up at a non-profit business to work with persons with disabilities, that I was very “tenacious” and I was hired. Best.Experience.Ever. I’ve had to protect this quality inside of me many times over the years while standing up for what is rightly needed. Today, we have a need to TALK openly and without shame about “Mental Health”. Everyone on this planet needs help with it...no one is exempt due to imperfection!
When I was asked to write a second book on essential oils I knew in my heart that I would be “putting it out there” in writing and with my heart topics for conversations about mental health. I also knew while addressing certain topics that my editors and even people that would read my book, would NOT want certain “topics” addressed. I dedicated pages 181 - 206 of my book for “Mental and Emotional Wellbeing” and covered a plethora of topics from Bi-Polar/Depression/PTSD/Drug Abuse/Lonliness/Anger/Trauma/OCD/Paranoia/Suicidal Thoughts to name a few. It wasn’t surprising that when I received my FIRST edit of the book, this section took quite a few “hits” from the editors, especially the one on “Suicidal Thoughts”. I “tenaciously” stood my ground with respectful force, and declined to remove any of my wording. All was kept but no without my editor letting me know how she felt about it...that it should be kept “private”. I’ve re-read this section of my book in view of recent high profile suicides and am so happy I am tenacious.
Essential oils do not cure Mental Health challenges, but they can be very supportive and easily integrated into a combined protocol with steady success. You will find very few recipes in this section because I would not take it upon myself to assume I know what works as I believe deep down mental health is very individualized, no “one oil(s) fits all”. Instead what is offered is a variety of oils that can be chosen, per person and need, and then integrated into daily life.
