Thank You, Ladles of Love: A legacy of service and love comes to an end after nearly two decades.

As we head into the weekend, we are overflowing with gratitude for the "Ladles of Love" outreach through Church On the Rock and the incredible impact they have had on our hospice community. Since the opening of our Compassionate Care Center in 2008, this dedicated group of volunteers has faithfully delivered hot, homemade soup, serving patients, families, and staff with consistency, kindness, and care.

For nearly two decades, Ladles of Love has been so much more than a meal. Their service brought warmth, comfort, and a sense of being cared for during tender times, and their generosity became a reliable and much-anticipated gift to our center.

As they retire this service, we want them to know how deeply thankful we are for every pot stirred, every delivery made, and every act of generosity shared. Thank you, Ladles of Love, for the lasting legacy you leave behind and for supporting our community so faithfully for so many years.

If you have a group who would like to continue this legacy, we'd love to chat! Please reach out to our volunteer coordinator, Mariah Smith, for more info!

We are grateful to the Tina Neal Home Team for their generous donation of snacks and drinks for the courtesy cart at the Compassionate Care Center. From snack cakes and chips to microwavable soups, hot chocolate, coffee, creamers and more, their generosity helps us offer a little warmth and comfort to patients and families during this special time of year.

Their support reflects the true spirit of the season, and we deeply appreciate their commitment to our mission and those we serve.

Nearly 300 people came together this past Sunday for our annual Remembrance Tree Ceremony at First Baptist Church, Richmond KY

It was a special time to honor and remember loved ones, share stories and fellowship with friends, old and new, and feel the warmth of community support.

We'd like to thank the First Baptist Church handbell ensemble and soloist Allie McGuire for providing such beautiful music, to Jamie Webb for volunteering her time and talents as our photographer and to our amazing HCP staff and volunteers for helping make Sunday's ceremony such a special event.

Happy Holidays, friends!

A little tree wrangling, a little microphone testing, and a whole lot of heart.

Our team spent the morning assembling trees, fluffing branches, and doing a very official “1-2-3, can you hear me?” sound check and everything is coming together beautifully for this Sunday’s Remembrance Tree Ceremony!

Still need to reserve your ornament?
While early reservations by phone and online have officially ended, you still have an opportunity to reserve a memorial ornament this Sunday at the ceremony. Please note, there will be a limited number of remaining 2025 ornaments available.

We can’t wait to share the day with you this Sunday at the Remembrance Tree Ceremony!

Hopeful, Expert, Compassionate Care

We take pride in hopeful, compassionate, expert care that recognizes that life continues even when there is no cure. We work with you, your caregiver, your family, and your doctors to control symptoms at home so you can focus on what matters: what you want life to look like for the next several months. What do you want to do and experience? Where do you want to be? What are you fighting for, working towards, planning for, and how can we help you get there?

Whether you’re part of our hospice or palliative programs, and regardless of whether your care is in your home or at our Compassionate Care Center, our goal is simple: to help you achieve the highest quality of life and to support your caregiver and family. We emphasize dignity, hope, and compassion as we provide specialized medical and team care to manage pain, symptoms, and other challenges.

We work alongside patients and families to make every moment matter. Read more about us at www.hospicecareplus.org, or savor inspiring stories of our patients, families, and staff as they pursue bucket-list wishes together--truly making every moment matter-- at www.hcpblogs.com. Then, contact us: learn about our programs, become a volunteer, apply for employment, give your financial support, or interact with us on Facebook.

We are a non-profit hospice serving Madison, Estill, Jackson, Lee, Owsley and Rockcastle counties. We offer both hospice and palliative care as well as a bereavement program. We also own and operate the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, a short-term inpatient hospice facility for symptom management and respite care.
