As we continue our series “When Time Matters: Is Hospice the Next Step?”, we aim to help families, caregivers, and providers recognize when additional support may be needed.

This week, we are focusing on changes in appetite and ongoing weight loss, and how hospice can provide guidance and support to help patients remain comfortable.

Changes in appetite and weight are common as illness progresses. Hospice helps families understand these changes while focusing on comfort and respecting the patient’s preferences around eating.

❤️ Hearts for Hospice begins today! ❤️

All month long, we’re partnering with local banks across our six-county service region to honor loved ones while supporting compassionate hospice care.

Stop by any participating bank to make a donation and dedicate a memorial heart in honor or memory of someone special. Hearts will be displayed throughout the month of February as a visible reminder of love, hope, and support. Banks will be accepting donations in both their lobby or the drive-thru!

As we continue our series “When Time Matters: Is Hospice the Next Step?”, we aim to help families, caregivers, and providers recognize when additional support may be needed.

This week, we are focusing on times when frequent hospital or ER visits may indicate it’s time for extra support, and how hospice can help manage symptoms and provide comfort.

Frequent hospital or ER visits can be exhausting for patients and families. Additionally, at Hospice Care Plus, our Compassionate Care Center offers 24/7 in-patient support, a “home away from home” where patients and families can receive continuous care and comfort by a dedicated team of hospice professionals.

This week, we continue our series “When Time Matters: Is Hospice the Next Step?”, created to help families, caregivers, and providers recognize when additional support may be needed.

This week, we are focusing on times when symptoms are increasing or becoming harder to manage at home, and how hospice can help provide comfort and relief.

When symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath, anxiety, nausea, or restlessness become more difficult to control at home, hospice can provide specialized care focused on comfort, allowing patients to remain in familiar surroundings.

This week, we continue our series “When Time Matters: Is Hospice the Next Step?”, created to help families, caregivers, and providers recognize when additional support may be needed.

This week, we are focusing on times when a loved one needs more help than family alone can provide, and how hospice can offer guidance, relief, and support.

As care needs increase, families often try to manage more than feels possible. Hospice provides professional support so loved ones do not have to face growing care needs alone.

This week, we begin our series “When Time Matters: Is Hospice the Next Step?”, created to help families, caregivers, and providers recognize when additional support may be needed.

Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing posts that highlight common signs it may be time to call hospice. These posts are meant to provide guidance and reassurance, showing that asking questions does not commit you to a decision.

Today, we are focusing on times when daily tasks are becoming harder. If a loved one is struggling with basic daily tasks and activities, hospice care may help them stay safe, comfortable, and at home, while also supporting caregivers along the way.

To learn more about our services, or to refer a loved one, please give us a call at 859-986-1500 or visit www.hospicecareplus.org

Hopeful, Expert, Compassionate Care

We take pride in hopeful, compassionate, expert care that recognizes that life continues even when there is no cure. We work with you, your caregiver, your family, and your doctors to control symptoms at home so you can focus on what matters: what you want life to look like for the next several months. What do you want to do and experience? Where do you want to be? What are you fighting for, working towards, planning for, and how can we help you get there?

Whether you’re part of our hospice or palliative programs, and regardless of whether your care is in your home or at our Compassionate Care Center, our goal is simple: to help you achieve the highest quality of life and to support your caregiver and family. We emphasize dignity, hope, and compassion as we provide specialized medical and team care to manage pain, symptoms, and other challenges.

We work alongside patients and families to make every moment matter. Read more about us at www.hospicecareplus.org, or savor inspiring stories of our patients, families, and staff as they pursue bucket-list wishes together--truly making every moment matter-- at www.hcpblogs.com. Then, contact us: learn about our programs, become a volunteer, apply for employment, give your financial support, or interact with us on Facebook.

We are a non-profit hospice serving Madison, Estill, Jackson, Lee, Owsley and Rockcastle counties. We offer both hospice and palliative care as well as a bereavement program. We also own and operate the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, a short-term inpatient hospice facility for symptom management and respite care.
