🎓 RUMI Graduation; Class of Spring 2025 🎓

From the opening processional to heartfelt speeches and community cheers, yesterday was a reminder that growth is possible when people feel seen, supported, and believed in.

What made it even more meaningful? The people who showed up. Probation officers, families, volunteers, and fellow residents all there to honor a journey of courage, consistency, and change.

These moments touch families, neighborhoods, and the very soul of our communities.

And yes, the joy was contagious. The food? Unmatched.
The love? Unmistakable.

A few weeks ago, we celebrated a powerful milestone, the graduation of our RUMI Winter Class.

We are so incredibly proud of every resident who completed the program with courage, consistency, and heart.

You showed up for yourselves. You supported one another. And you walked across that stage with purpose.

Franklin Grove residents attended the ReNew You Wellness Pop-Up, and the experience was nothing short of amazing! 💆🏾‍✨ From relaxing acupuncture sessions to free biometric screenings and flu shots, our community embraced the opportunity to prioritize their health and well-being.

A huge thank you to the event organizers and healthcare professionals who made this possible! 🙌🏾 Our residents left feeling refreshed, empowered, and excited for more wellness opportunities.

Leading this charge is Clinical Director Mr. Rufus, whose dedication ensures both our residents and staff have the tools they need to succeed. Whether he’s providing one-on-one or group counseling sessions, training staff on effective engagement with residents, or guiding behavioral interventions through BIRP Notes, his impact is felt across our entire community.

This past Saturday, we were beyond grateful to welcome one of our incredible supporters, Mr. Alkins, who traveled over two hours from Maryland to update and repair our computer lab systems. 🚗💨

Our computer lab is a lifeline for our residents—a place where they can search for jobs, connect with reentry resources, and access the tools they need to rebuild their lives. Thanks to Mr. Alkins’ dedication and expertise, this essential resource remains a powerful part of their journey toward success.

This Music Monday was extra special as we celebrated Mr. Art’s final week with us. He shared a powerful and heartfelt message that resonated deeply with everyone:

"As of right now, I'm just trynna be more positive. I believe my goods outweigh my bad. I'm always trynna be helpful, and I treat people exactly how I wanna be treated. I came out of prison with absolutely nothing—it was a sad feeling. But today, I have hope, and that hope is gonna take me where I need to go as long as I have a strong mind, stay motivated, and keep thinking positive."

It’s more than just music; it’s a therapeutic space where residents can express themselves, reflect, and find healing. 🎤🧠 Music taps into emotions, inspires hope, and connects people in meaningful ways—helping our residents rediscover their strength and purpose.

🏠 A Visit from Franklin Grove Alumni, Mr. Twyman: A Story of Resilience and Success 🏠

Millions of people are released from institutions each year, only to face another sentence: the struggle of rebuilding their lives. Imagine stepping out after years of confinement and facing a world that feels like it’s holding its breath. At Franklin Grove, we understand that a house is not the same as a home. We are proud to be a place where justice-impacted people not only find housing but experience unexpected joys, a sense of belonging, dignity, and support: HOME.

Recently, we were overjoyed to welcome back one of our alumni, Mr. Twyman. When asked how he’s doing, he shared with a smile: “I’m doing great, I’m in such a good place right now—it’s still unbelievable.” Today, he has a job, his own place, a car, and the pieces of his life are coming together.

Testimonies like Mr. Twyman’s remind us why we do what we do and inspire our entire team to continue making a difference. We’re here to support, uplift, and create new opportunities so that everyone, especially justice-impacted individuals can thrive beyond roadblocks.
