Hello all! While there is a tentative date to re-open massage businesses in Virginia on May 8th Anita and I will not be seeing clients until mid-June at least. We are following CDC guidelines, those set by the governor, as well as using our own intuition to decide when is safest to resume business. That being said, appointments will be a little different. Here are some guidelines Anita has laid out that I will be going by as well. Nothing is set in stone right now, and my decision making will be
Tempering expectations- It could be awhile until I am fully up and running again. I ask for your patience with this, as with all of us, I'm learning as I go. I will be abiding by the guidelines and recommendations set by Governor Northam, as well as following protocols from my massage liability insurance company regarding reopening of my practice, as well as closely following CDC guidelines. Overall, sessions may look a little different. I will be wearing a mask during your session, gloves during payment and note taking. I will be asking clients to wear a mask during sessions as well.
Coming back slowly- I will be staggering appointments to allow more turn over time between sessions for cleaning and disinfecting. I may also be closing down every other day to have more preparation with the new cleaning protocols. This could mean I see fewer clients in a day/week, so with this in mind, I will no longer be taking any new clients for the foreseeable future. I will reach out to each of my regular clients in the coming weeks about rescheduling.
In accordance with extended shelter-in-place recommendations to protect our more vulnerable populations, I am not working with clients with compromised immune systems, clients aged 65 or above, or clients in other elevated at-risk categories at this time.
Being Transparent- Have you had a fever in the last 24 hours of 100°F or above? Do you now, or have you recently had, any respiratory or flu symptoms, sore throat, or shortness of breath? Have you been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or has coronavirus-type symptoms? If yes to any of these, we will reschedule with no problem and no penalty. I will be living my words too. I will let you know how I am feeling, and err on the side of caution. We are all in this together.

Amid the ongoing uncertainty of COVID-19, I have modified the cancellation policy to offer greater flexibility to all clients. I hope this will alleviate any stress and hesitation you have about an upcoming appointment. If you need to reschedule for whatever reason, and especially if you are not feeling well, I understand and request for you to please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule. To further support you, there will be no penalties for cancellations. based on current events.
