What a beautiful evening Outreach had with the community celebrating breast cancer survivors and spreading awareness.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make the event. Thanks to Dr. Sutton for doing an amazing job of sharing awareness. Thanks to our "thriving survivor" for sharing her testimony.

THANK YOU Temple Fitness, Chinary Hall for closing the social with a bang!

See you all next year!

Men can get breast cancer too.

Men can get breast cancer too.

๐Ÿ’™ October 19โ€“25 is Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week. ๐Ÿ’™

For a man, the average lifetime risk of breast cancer is approximately 1 in 726, according to our friends at the Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance.

Before his own diagnosis in 2016, ABCD Mentor Kurt says he was โ€œone of those men that did not know that men could get breast cancer.โ€

He understands many men donโ€™t want to be in the spotlight, but itโ€™s important to be willing to talk about it. โ€œYou canโ€™t let your ego get in the way,โ€ says Kurt. โ€œItโ€™s not about protecting your masculinity. Itโ€™s about protecting your life.โ€ ๐Ÿ’ฌ

๐Ÿ”— Read Kurtโ€™s story:

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ If you're a man with breast cancer, ABCD can provide free, one-to-one emotional support by pairing you with a male Mentor who has a similar lived experience. Learn more: https://abcdbreastcancersupport.org/get-support/

This month, we stand together to honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember those we've lost. ๐Ÿ’– Whether you're wearing pink, donating, or simply spreading the word โ€” every action counts. Together, we can make a difference.

The National Patient Advocate Foundation (NPAF) is looking for volunteers/community residents to share their experiences to make sure the patient voice is heard.

If you buy your health insurance from the Marketplace -- whether it's healthcare.gov or your state's program -- the NPAF would like to hear from you.

In particular, writers are looking for to feature people who are worried that they may lose their subsidies, leaving their insurance unaffordable.

If you'd like to share your story, please email a few sentences about your experience to Caitlin.Donovan@patientadvocate.org
