JFS Richmond is proud to partner with the JELF - Jewish Educational Loan Fund to help Jewish students in our community pursue higher education without the burden of interest-bearing debt.

In 2025, nine Richmond students received $42,986 in 0% interest loans, supporting not only tuition, but essential living expenses like housing, books and food.

As the cost of education continues to rise, this partnership ensures local students have access to opportunity, stability and a stronger future. Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year are now open: jelf.org/app.

Exciting news! We’re proud to be featured in the latest CAPABLE Program Newsletter.

The newsletter highlights JFS client Christine Hanger and her inspiring journey through the CAPABLE program. With support from her care team, Hanger gained confidence, independence and problem-solving skills, transforming her home and daily routine.

CAPABLE is open to Richmond-area residents aged 60 and older who face challenges with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, cooking or walking. To learn more or to make a referral, email capable@jfsrichmond.org or call 804-282-5644.
