Your mental health matters, especially during pregnancy and motherhood.

This journey brings big feelings—it's normal to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or tired. Prioritizing rest, seeking support, and talking with your care team can reduce stress and support both baby’s development and your connection with them.

You deserve a calm, healthy pregnancy and postpartum too. 💛

Your birth team at Embrace is knowledgeable in treating perinatal mental health before, during and after pregnancy with traditional and holistic ways to support you.

May is Maternal Mental Health Month.

We will be sharing resources and information to support you.

May is Maternal Mental Health Month, and we're Connecting the Dots for Maternal Mental Health 🔵

1 in 5 parents will experience a perinatal mental health disorder (PMHD) during or after pregnancy. PMHDs
are the #1 complication of childbirth. And yet...most parents navigate it in silence.

That silence is what we’re here to break.

This May, Postpartum Support International and The Blue Dot Project are sharing the statistics, stories, support, and solidarity about perinatal mental health disorders so that every parent knows they are not alone, they are not to blame, and with help, they WILL be well.

Oxytocin is the hormone that is central in labor, birth and breastfeeding.

Often called the “love hormone,” oxytocin is what stimulates contractions.

When mom feels safe, supported, and undisturbed it is abundant
Oxytocin releases during intimacy, connection, safety and bonding.

All those things are needed in labor.

Oxytocin doesn’t release during times of stress.

Adrenaline is released during times of stress and fear.

This can slow or stall labor.

Gentle, respectful care and a calm, comfortable space can help oxytocin flow naturally. You deserve a birth and postpartum experience that honors this powerful hormone.

Birth environment matters.
Feeling safe matters.
Your birth team matters.
