On May 3rd, Scott will be teaching frame polishing at the SIOS show in Frisco, Texas. We will cover how to clean up a zyl that has hit the ground and been chewed up as shown in the picture. After a hands on training you will take home all of the factory polishes and other things you will need to make this happen in your shop. You will also get a polishing wheel to keep. I guess I'll post another vintage tint since it seems to be popular. This 70's ***OY called for a light cognac fade. Just a little more on the yellow/orange side than boring and brown.

Some people find light tints effect their mood. Yellow spectrum is generally stimulating. If you really want an upper, 70's orange is a shot in the arm, and red is just too much for me but Mom loved it.

not only made a horn pad, they laser engraved it. Mind blown. 🤯

One quality of horn is that it is hypoallergenic since it is keratin. This preserves that benefit of the material whilst allowing for a pad for those who require both.

The headlines recently had a quote from the CEO of a major media company to the effect of "Media is at peak disruption." It was in reference to traditional media being disrupted by social media and even more so by podcasts. Just 30% of Americans now get their news from traditional sources and most of those are over 65.

In the optical business there are several regular podcasts, and the content is often OK to not relevant. Usually these podcasts lack depth and breadth or are just boring.

The one podcast that has depth and by far the widest breadth of interviews and topics is Daniel Feldman's Optical Journal podcast. Although I was a guest several times in the early days, this is not a paid endorsement. I'm simply telling you, if you aren't checking into what's being discussed every week, you aren't current on the happenings and personalities in the industry.

Executive bifocals have been unceremoniously discontinued, but not at Bad Ass Optical. Yes, it took some leg work, but we have them.

I don't expect anyone to celebrate or anything since they are ugly, but y'all have one or two people who would like to keep on wearing them. Now they can.
