I got to spend the morning with Ridgecrest Montessori Children's House sharing with the kids for Children's Oral Health Month.

We learned what foods make our teeth happy - called always foods - and sad - called sometimes foods. 🍎🥕🍦🧁

We did an experiment to see how fluoridated toothpaste can protect an eggshell - simulating tooth enamel - from acid exposure (we used RC Cola as the acid).

We learned the proper way to brush our teeth (small circular motions at the gum line) and practice the skill on fake teeth! 🪥🦷

MYO CAMP

What is it? Who can benefit? How do I sign my kiddo up? When and where is it?

This summers myo camp consists of 4 1-hour group session over summer where we will do fun activities that focus on nasal breathing, tongue strength, habit elimination, and proper swallowing. Our goal is to support healthy oral function, build confidence, and set the foundation for long-term health — all in a playful, supportive setting.

Our Summer Myofunctional Therapy Group (Myo Camp) is perfect for kids ages 5–12 who:

-Breathe through their mouth instead of their nose
-Snore or grind teeth at night
-Have trouble with speech sounds or messy eating
-Still use thumbs, fingers, or pacifiers for comfort
-Struggle to keep lips closed or rest tongue properly
-Need help with swallowing patterns or tongue strength
